First Thursday of the year 2013! Right folks? How was your day today? or your first days this year? I hope you did had a nice one. Yes, I am!
My friend called me last night. She told me that another friend is coming to her and we will be driving to Czech Republic. I should go grocery shopping today but since she invited me to go with them in Cheb, Czech Republic, I cannot say no to it. Besides I have been planning since last week to go there. I should be going last January 1 but I am afraid that everyone was closed during that day.
In short, I had a reroute in Cheb instead of going for grocery shopping today. And you know what did we do there? I was once there in a hair and beauty shop last summer 2012. I had a haircut and it was so cheap. I told my friend that I want to go back there again. So we indeed up driving there. I had my haircut again and a new color for my hair. I love how the beautician did it to my hair. For sure, I want to go back again in that place. my friends also had their nails manicured and some hair styling as well. Things like these are much cheaper in Czech Republic than in Germany.

After 2 hours of pampering ourselves in that beauty shop, we went to an Asian restaurant and had our dinner. The foods were good and also very cheap! Lastly and the most important thing, we had fun during that trip. It is also good sometimes to reward and pamper ourselves. Right ladies?

It’s Christmas Time! This is also the chance for me to share some of the Christmas markets I visited and experienced in Europe. It was a solo trip for me when I visited Thüringen, German name for Thuringia. Not really a solo trip because I was with a group of German tourists and most of them are retired ones. Since everybody are busy during this holiday season, I ended up travelling alone but with a group. I never know anyone from that trip but I was glad that some of them are so friendly.
Thuringia is one of the 16 federal states located in the central part of Germany. Its capital city is Erfurt and this is where our trip started among all of the three cities that were included from that trip.
It has been a long time since I planned to go to this city and I am so happy and contented after our trip there. The highlight of our trip was the visit to the Christmas market. This event is one of my favorite in Germany every year.

This year’s celebration of Erfurt’s Christmas Market takes place from November 27 to December 22,2012. It is the 162nd Erfurt Christmas Market. It is the largest Christmas market in Thuringia. It spreads through out the whole town center but the main part takes place on the Cathedral Square. You can find around 200 booths selling various products from art and crafts to Christmas decors, Jeweleries and local foods and delicacies such as Lubkuchen (ginger bread), Stollen, Glühwein (mulled wine), Thuringer wurst (sausage in Thuringia) and many more. You can enjoy a ferris wheel ride at the Cathedral square.
