One of the best thing to experience in Germany when you visit it during holiday season are the Christmas markets held in the different villages, towns or cities in this country. It is nice to experience the magical atmosphere during Christmas season through the celebration of the Christmas markets.
I have been to many Christmas markets in Europe but Bamberg has its own beauty and uniqueness. Its Old Town is illuminated especially during the night. Many shops are also full of Christmas decors. The marketplace at Maxplatz in Bamberg’s pedestrian zone is filled with stalls selling various products and delicacies. You can smell the aroma of roasted almonds, grilled bratwurst, Glühwein or mulled wine and Lebkuchen or ginger bread.
Bamberg is famous for its abundance of Christmas Cribs on show on its Route of Nativity Scenes. You can find it in museums, churches, private houses and buildings and on public squares.
We had a walk in some part of the Old Town including the Maxplatz, the Old Town Hall and Jacobsplatz during our visit. Since our time is limited during that trip and also due to the continuous snow, we really did not see everything but we were happy to experience the market in this UNESCO World Heritage City of Bamberg.
Here are images I took during our visit.

Hello everyone! How was your second Sunday of advent? I hope everything went fine. So far, I am doing great and I had a very adventurous weekend. I will let you know the long story once I am not too busy.
Anyway, I have a friend who loves coffee a lot. She owns one of those bunn coffee brewers and she always invites to have coffee with her on their home. I always love it especially if she will bake fresh new bread. She is just a good baker and a cook as well. I always ask for a cup of coffee everytime I visit her.
Thanks my friend for always inviting me at your home! Happy holidays in advance!
After our sightseeing in Basel Christmas market last November 24, 2012, we decided to go a bit walking near our hotel. We had an overnight in Hilton, a 5 star hotel in Basel. Some meters walk from our hotel, you can already see the Basel SBB , also known as Rail City Basel. It is the central railway station in the city of Basel in Switzerland.
That was not a bad idea walking with a friend named Jean in that part of Basel. That was also a very great trip!

The 1907 station building is a heritage site of national significance.
Christmas is around the corner and it is 18 days more to go before it comes. Time is truly passing by so fast. Are you done shopping with Christmas presents? I am still trying to figure out what unique Christmas presents I can give to friends. I am thinking about custom made t-shirts or photo calendars with our photos from our previous parties, trips and get together. Which do you think is better folks? The first one or the latter? I need to decide before the end of the week.
Hi dear friends and visitors!! thanks for visiting me here!! Have a great and blessed day!!
