Anderson Cooper, I Also Saw What You Saw . . .

I read this in one of my friends wall  in facebook and decided to post it here. Thanks Geraldine Uy Wong  sharing this.  I am also helping you sharing it to the whole world.

This is quite a very long message  but it is all worth reading  it!

“Help me get this to Anderson Cooper

Mr. Anderson Cooper, I want to thank you for reporting on the miserable conditions that you saw when you covered the Tacloban calamity scene 5 days after the typhoon. Your report came out on Tuesday, the day I was herding our relatives to the airport to finally get out of Tacloban. A day before, I was able to board the relief cargo plane of Air 21 Express from Manila to Tacloban when I was given the chance, getting there on Monday noon, and immediately I set out looking for my family members. On the way to the city, I saw what you saw, countless dead bodies strewn on the ground in various stages of decomposition, extensive destruction everywhere I looked, injured people walking on the streets looking like zombies – hungry, confused, desperate. The stench of death permeated all around us and sent chills down my spine. Countless times as our vehicle moved down the road, we were stopped by people in the streets begging for food. The roads were only passable by one lane, and along the way, I saw officers of the BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection) manually remove the dead bodies, along with the unbelievably massive amount of debris scattered all around. Because of this, what would normally take 40 minutes or less to traverse became an agonizing 2 hour ride. I saw what you saw, Anderson, and it angered me as much as it did you. I was also heartbroken, for this is the place where I spent some of the most wonderful summers of my childhood. I vowed to myself that I would speak up about the government’s incompetence as soon as I got out. If I ever get out. . . (more…)

What Gear You Should Take On Your Next Mountain Bike Ride

Mountain biking enables a ride to journey through woodlands at speeds that are much faster than you could manage on foot. When you venture into an untouched environment surrounded by glorious flora and fauna, you become completely independent where unpredictable changes to weather, bicycle failure and unforeseeable marked trails leading to extra miles of peddling can turn an enjoyable outing into a misadventure very quickly. Bringing the correct supplies is a necessity to any ride, but if you are a beginner, deciding which tools are necessary for the voyage can be overwhelming. You don’t want to leave anything important behind, but you also don’t want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire because you didn’t pack a bike pump – they are an awkward device to attach to your two wheeler after all – essential yet bothersome. So what do you take? Here is some of the items you should have on you to make your ride easier to manage if something goes wrong.

First of all, I would like to thank a dear blogger friend named Ryanne for these nice postcards  from Korea and from other places and countries. Thanks a lot! I love them all! I also want to apologize for posting this quite late as I received these postcards  three weeks ago! whew! I was sick for almost two weeks that time and  did not had the chance to  post it.  Finally, things are getting better now and I am doing good as well. I am truly happy when I saw this  brown envelope in our mailbox one day.  I love them all!

The Huge Popularity of Devon Cottages

Why is the county of Devon ranked as the top area for tourism every year? Could it be the quaint fishing ports which dot each of the county’s coasts?; perhaps it’s the fact that there are no less than two vast national parks; is it Devon’s top beaches?; or just maybe it is a combination of these and other features. It is highly likely that the mild climate of this part of England should be taken into account, as well.
