It is called as Colosseo or Anfiteatro Flavio by Italians and in Latin, Amphitheatrum Flavium but I love it calling in English Colosseum. I had already seen one of its replica in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada last 2008 and I am happy to announce that I had finally seen its original architecture last August 2010. It is the largest elliptical amphitheatre in the Roman Empire and is even noted as one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering.

I guess, I will share more information and images in my Euro Travel blog about this great architecture. Below are some images I took during our visit.

We arrived in Rome Fiumicino Airport at the night of Aug. 11, 2010 already. As we were on our way to our hotel, we were able to pass the Colosseum at night. Sorry folks, this is not really a good image because I did not use a camera flash afraid that I will disturb and blind the driver.

Another dream come true! I am very thankful that my dream of visiting one of the beautiful cities in Europe was finally materialized. One of the cities we visited last August 2010 is Rome, the capital city of Italy. It was a four-day trip we had in this city. During our first day tour, we visited Vatican City. Special mention is St. Peter’s Cathedral, also known as St. Peter’s Basilica or known in Italian as the Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano.

This Cathedral is known to have the largest interior of all Christian churches in the world. It is one of the holiest Catholic sites. It is a Late Renaissance church and known as the greatest of all churches of Christendom.

Below are some of some images I took during our visit. I simply love Rome!

the cupola or dome of St. Peter’s Balisica. We climbed some hundred steps in going up. To reach the dome, one has to climb for 320 steps after taking the elevator. For those who have heart ailments are being warned when going up.

Let’s talk about house and home improvements again! I believed everybody always wanted to have a nice and beautiful place to dwell. We are included on the list. Hubby and me talked about home improvements again yesterday. We need new furniture for bed and bath but maybe not this year because we already did some home improvements for this year. One of our plans for next year is to have a new bathroom sink, bathtub and other bathroom accessories because we will be repairing our old bathroom. We are also planning to make another room in our attic. It is a huge place that could probably house for three bedrooms. It means that when our home improvements will be materialized next time, I need to find some discount area rugs for these news rooms.

There are just a lot of projects and improvements that need to be done in our old house but we are quite happy and contented now since it is already fully paid. When we have some extra money, more improvements are for sure going to happen. It was again another interesting trip we had last weekend as we visited Canstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart, Germany. This festival only started as an agricultural event sometime in 1818 and turned into people festival. It is also considered to be one of the biggest festival in the world and known to be the second after Munich’s Oktoberfest. It is estimated that this festival is visited every year by around 4.2 million people from all over the world. No wonder, there were thousands of visitors during our visit last weekend.
