Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring!

I am finally saying goodbye to winter season. I just looked on the calendar today and found out that the official spring time in Germany will start on March 21 this year. I am quite excited about spring season. Some plants especially the crocus, tulips and narcissus are starting to grow now. Some crocus are already blooming in our garden now.

Just sharing this image for the last winter. This was taken in December 2010 in our place.

Snow is everywhere in this image. Winter is also beautiful but I need spring season now. Goodbye winter and hello spring time!

Chinese Carnival in Dietfurt, Bavaria, Germany

This year’s Dietfurter Chinesenfasching or Dietfurt Chinese Carnival was held last March 3, 2011. It was another success for this year’s celebration. The Chinese Carnival in Dietfurt is unique compared to the rest in Germany because of its theme being mostly Chinese. That is also the reason why you see Chinese costumes during this festival.

Here are some images taken during my visit with friends during this year’s festival. We truly had fun!

Dietfurt is a town in the district of Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It is very famous for its Chinese Carnival held annually.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris

I always love to remember my trip in Paris, France. I had visited this city twice and still did not see everything. One of the sights we visited during my second visit was the The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacre -Coeur Basilica. This architecture is popular landmark of Paris. It is located at the highest point of the city, on Montmartre. We even did not had a chance to go inside this church because we have to catch up the going to Brussels, Belgium. I am happy to see it even from outside.

This post should be done last night but I had a problem with my laptop. I am thankful that it is fixed now. Off for a carnival in the next city. I will you see you again later in the evening.

This image was taken during my second visit in Paris last August 2010.

Sunshine is outside. It is nice to be out again. Have a wonderful day everyone!

2011 Fasching, Carnival in Hemau, Bavaria

The Fasching or carnival in Hemau was a very lively and colourful one. I did not expect that this small town can organized such festival. Where you can find Hemau in Germany? It is a town in the district of Regensburg in the state of Bavaria in Southern Germany.

I am happy and contented watching the carnival in Hemau last Sunday, March 6, 2011. It was such a very interesting event. Here are some images I took last Sunday. More images will be posted in my Travel and Explore Germany site.

colourful costumes and dresses were worn by the particiuants of the parade. The carnival in Hemau was witnessed by thousands of people last Sunday.

Food Talk

There was something that popped-up on my computer screen as I opened my yahoo mail tonight. It says, “Eat all you can for $5.99”. That is very cheap. Sad to say, I have no idea if they offer like a so-called restaurant delivery. That is when they deliver food door to door. I know there are a lot of restaurants in the United States that offer services like this.

Talking about food this time, I am quite serious with my diet plan since a week now. I still eat food but if possible only the half of it. Besides, I always include fruits and vegetable in my diet. I believed this is a good way of having a good and normal diet.

I also got an image of an Asian food taken during our lunch in a Chinese restaurant in Berlin, Germany last month.
