This is so far the smallest palace built by King Ludwig II, king of Bavaria, Germany. Linderhof Palace or Schloss Linderhof is located near Ettal Abbey in the southwest part of Bavaria, Germany. I was telling myself during our visit that I won’t go inside this building if I can’t take photos. Sad to say, I was forced to go inside because of my curiousness and want to see the inside of this palace because this is the only one that was finished when King Ludwig was still in life. I was in Neuschwanstein castle, another castle of King Ludwig II but he already died and this castle was still not done.

In short, after paying the entrance fee for Linderhof Palace, I did went inside with friends. I did not regret it because it was truly a very beautiful palace. Here is one image I took from outside. Such an amazing view!

I guess my favorite part was the Hall of Mirrors. This room was used by the king as some kind of living room. He enjoyed sitting in the niche, sometimes reading there the whole night. Because Ludwig II used to sleep in the daytime and stay awake in the night, the mirrors created an unimaginable effect for him when they reflected the light of the candles a thousand times. The parallel placement of some mirrors evoke the illusion of a never ending avenue.

I almost forgot that today is the first day of April. If a friend haven’t told me about it, I might be thinking that we are still in the month of March. And yes, I am finally back home!  It’s nice to be home again. After some weeks of fun and adventure in Spain, I am finally back to my second home which is Germany.

One of the places I visited when I was in Spain was Alcala de Henares. I already posted  an article  and a snapshot from this city last week.  I still have a lot of travel experiences  and images  to share  from my Spain trip. I wish  I have enough time to share about it.  Thanks to my cameras where I took a lot of snapshots from the different  places I visited. Of course, I brought with my my battery chargers  with duracell procell aaa batteries for my other travel gadgets.

Alcala de Henares is  a small but a beautiful city. Its  historical centre  is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The name of this Spanish city means Citadel on the river Henares.

It was so far a wonderful trip we had in this city considering the friendly weather when we  were there.

You can do a lot of things through the help of computers and  internet. You can watch movies  and shows  online. You can read current news and events.  You can download  a software  according to  your needs like an antivirus, photoshop software and many others. I remember someone’s  daughter in Germany who downloaded a song from Sony Entertainment online. It should be a pay per download but since  her daughter made an illegal download, they ended up paying a fine of over 800.00 Euros. Be careful guys of what you are downloading online. As long as it is legal, you don’t have to worry about it.

It was a sunny day yesterday, March 29, 2012 when there was a  Huelga General or  General strike in  Spain.  I witnessed the one held in Madrid, Spain since I am still here until now.  A lot of  flights were cancelled yesterday  in Spain especially in Madrid. Delays and cancellations  on some transportation like autobuses, metro, trains and taxis   also took place. Lots of stores and shops were also closed.  Despite this strike some cafes and restaurants were still opened yesterdayThe Spanish unions have called the general strike for labour reform.

It was quite a calm and peaceful strike in Madrid. The apartment where I am staying is located in Sol. From the top of  the terrace, I can see the people striking down the road.  I  went  down to go to Puerta del Sol but the streets were heavily crowded with lots of  people especially the strikers.

There were a lot of trash and garbage on the streets of Madrid. Today, when I look down from  the  apartment where I am staying, I found out that it was already cleaned. It seems that the normal life and business in Madrid is backed to normal.

What a sunny lovely day we are having right now in Madrid, Spain. Yes, I am still in Madrid. Due to some unavoidable circumstances my flight back home was cancelled. It was due to the national strike that is currently happening in Spain. I can even see the strikers from the top of the apartment where I am staying in Sol. I was sorting out things last night for my check-in luggage and hand carry. I found out that that my 17.3 inches laptop is too big for my hand carry luggage. I guess I need a smaller one. I would like one of those laptops for students which is not so big and enough for hand carry when I travel. I saw one in El Corte Ingles here in Madrid but I have to consider my budget. I need to save first some money for it so that I can buy a new one in the coming months. I am also thinking what brand I will be buying. Any idea about it?
