Done With Our Bathroom Renovation
The longing of having a new bathroom was finally granted! After some years of bearing and using an old and quite dilapidated bathroom, we are finally done with the total renovation. The dirt and dust were finally over. It is almost half a year now since we are using our newly renovated bathroom. It is one of the major home projects we planned for years. There are still a lot of home project that are lining up. We are just slowly doing it year after year.
Last spring 2012, we started our bathroom renovation. During the planning period, we started to look for Fitted Bathroom Furniture, tiles to be used on the floor and on the the walls, colour of the bathtub (our old one was yellow), materials and colours of shelves and cabinets and other furniture and accessories needed in it. We ordered a set of bathroom furniture online. One of my friends gave us a three tier glass bathroom storage shelves. I bought a very cheap glass shelf made of chrome in a discount shop for 15.00 Euros. I also bought new towel holders and toilet paper holder.
Hubby was responsible for the hardware items. He was the one who shopped for the materials needed for the renovation like cement, tiles, hollow blocks, pipes, drains fittings, valves, valve assemblies and other hardware materials. Most of all, he was the one who did the renovation. Imagine how many thousands of Euros we save when we renovated our bathroom? I can’t imagine when her twin sister said that they spent almost 30,000 Euros for their bathroom renovation. If I have to compute the expenditure we had, I believed only 20% of what her sister’s total expenses. See how much money we save?
I am thankful for marrying a handyman who knows everything when it comes to home repair and improvement including plumbing, electric stuffs like installation, car repairs, equipment repairs and most of all masonry. Yes, he can do everything in the house and I am very lucky to have him. More on that, we already save a lot of money when it comes to home repair and renovation.
At the moment, we are renovating our kitchen. I just need more patient because I can’t really cook well using a portable electric stove and with improvise furniture as kitchen. I can’t wait until this project will be done. Hopefully next month, I can already use our fully renovated kitchen. I am quite excited about it.
