Travel Snapshot- The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

It is not only an iconic symbol of Berlin but in the whole of Germany as well. The Brandenburg Gate, known as Brandenbuger Tor in German, is located west of the city centre at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße. I had the pleasure to visit this historical monument over a year ago.

The Brandenburg Gate was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and built by Carl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791.
