Fasching in Velburg, Germany

It is Fasching season in Germany! It is also called as Karneval or simply  carnival in English. I have been to many Faschingszug or carnival parade in Bavaria, one of the 16 states in Germany. I was trying to browse some of the photos I took during the carnival in Velburg, a town in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalzs) in Bavaria.

Last carnival  season  2009, we watched the parade in Velburg. The temperature was so cold but due to the excitement of  watching this event for the first time in this place,  I just ignored the cold weather. I had fun watching the different groups with their  presentations and colorful  costumes. Some were dancing, singing, playing music, shouting, laughing and simply had fun during that event.

Don’t miss  to watch the carnival  parade if you happen to be in Germany during this season. I know for sure, you will have a lot  of fun watching one a unique  culture and tradition in Germany.

Here are are some of the  photos I took during the carnival in  Velburg. Have fun browsing!

It’s Karaoke Time!

It’s party time! I had a night out last night with friends. We visited the next city just to go to a karaoke bar and have  fun. Many guests can sing really good as if they were  performing in a  live band or concert. I also heard new songs and I am not quite familiar with it. I want to buy  cds  of these new songs and I will see if I can find some online. I also find a cd duplication from disc2day.com. I guess I can request my brother to duplicate some cd’s for me using this site.

Our karaoke night out was truly awesome. We had a lot of fun singing and dancing. I wish to share some photos here but I won’t do it unless I ask permissions with my friends to publish their pictures.

Have a nice week ahead! I am off for now.

Friend’s Special Day!

January is over and we are now in the second month of the year. February is finally here. January is so far a great month and I believed February as well. This month is starting nicely and I am thankful about it.

Let me go back to the main topic. Last month, one of my friends celebrated her birthday. There was  party and everyone was happy. It was again another gathering full of fun, sumptuous foods, happy memories and simply being with friends sharing laughter together. It is nice to be with good  friends  all the time, that is why I always treasure them.

Here is the banquet we shared during Jo’s birthday party. Wish you all the best of everything birthday lady! Thanks for inviting me again!

Believing in Fairy Tales and Stories

Do you believe in fairy tales and stories? If you do, are you still believing it until now? I always love hearing stories about dwarves, giants, fairies, goblins, mermaids, gnomes and many others when I was young. Until now, I still do.

Fairy-Hobmother02.02.13

I know that these creatures are unbelievable but what if I tell you that I already experienced some of it. Other friends told me that I maybe have a mole in my eyes that is why I can see creatures that are unseen or hard to be seen. I really have a mole in one of  my eyes. When I was in the 4th grade playing hide and seek with my friends in the neighborhood, I was to trying to find a friend who is hiding at the back of the comfort room. I did not see her there but I saw a woman who was dressed in white at the back of the CR. To my surprised, I ran to my other friends and told them that there is a white lady at the back of the comfort room. When we went there, she was nowhere to be found. Anyway most CRs in the little town where I lived before in the Philippines are separated from the main house.

Until now, I still can’t forget about that happening. And yes, I still believed in fairy tales and stories until now.  Fairy Hobmother had finally visited my humble abode! He  sprinkled  his magic dust in our home. I can’t   wait for our new  Condenser tumble dryer to be delivered soon. Thanks Fairy  Hobmother for making my wish come true!

If you want him to spread his magic dust to your homes, simply visit   and follow  him in twitter. Just click FAIRYHOBMOTHER and write to him your wishes. Good luck and also don’t forget to leave your comments and wishes in this post for him to see.

This is what I’m saying, sometimes wishes come true!

News about a Man Who Had Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

While taking my lunch today, I heard a news over the radio. Yes, I am still listening to the radio especially when I am in our kitchen doing something. Whether I am cooking, baking, cleaning the kitchen or eating meals, I always turn-on the radio. I heard a news about co2 detector information. I guess a lot of you know about this gadget. If not,  let me tell you about it. A carbon monoxide detector is a device that detects the presence of the carbon monoxide (CO) gas in order to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. This is according to my friend, wikipedia.

Another news I heard over the radio  was  about a  man who fall slept inside his car somewhere  near  a farm  house in Bavaria, Germany.  I missed to hear   if he  was  drunk  or not.  According to  the newscaster, the man turned-on the heater  while sleeping inside the car the whole night last night. It is currently winter in Germany and  investigation says that he might had a  carbon monoxide poisoning. They did not  find any other cause of his death but a   carbon monoxide poisoning.  This is really a very sad news.

I also heard another news,  that  all newly  build  houses in Germany  starting  2013 must install a smoke detector inside their  house.  Owners of  old houses  as well,  must install smoke  detectors  starting 2017. If I am not mistaken, this is already put into law.

I have some friends who have smoke detectors  inside  their homes. One friend was alarmed  as a fire started to  break in their kitchen  two years ago. With the help of  the smoke detector, not too much managed were done to their home.

This is  one  advantage of our modern technology. There are already a lot of gadgets and devices  that make us safe from all sort  of  harms  and dangers.
