Need New Brake Discs and Pads for Hubby’s Car

Winter is over and it left some damages to the streets, motorways and cars also. During heavy snow last winter in our place, salt were sprayed on the streets to avoid getting frozen and slippery. Salt is not good for cars because it make the metal parts of the cars rusty. That is also the reason why hubby’s car also need new brake discs and brake pads. It is also like doing a motorhome repair when these things happened. After I bought those car parts last week, hubby immediately changed his brake discs and brake pads. Now, his car is ready for inspection. It costs some money but it is needed.

The Horse Pond in Salzburg, Austria

The Pferdeschwemme or Horse Pond in Salzburg, Austria was built in 1695. The horses of the archbishop’s stables were washed in this pond. The horse statue in the center was built by sculptor Michael Mandl. The Horse Pond was designed by Fischer v. Erlach and the horse frescos were made by Court painter Franz Anton Ebner.

Salzburg is very famous for its Sound of Music. Even though, I visited this city twice, I am still planning to go back there to watch the Sound of Music.

The Pferdeschwemme or Horse Pond taken during my second visit last November 2008. My first visit in Salzburg was in June 2007.

The splendid Horse Pond shows the importance of horses during the Baroque period. The Sigmundstor or Neutor is located behind the Horse Pond.

Roses for the month of June

The sixth month of the year is finally here. The first day of June was quite rainy and cloudy almost the whole day in our place. I never saw sunshine today compared to the past days in May. The rain yesterday and today made our garden happy. I can almost see the plants and the flowers smiling in our garden..wink!

Don’t you know that the month of June was named after the Roman goddess Juno? She is the wife of Jupiter, equivalent to the Greek goddess Hera. June is also known as the month of marriages. Some considered it a good luck to get married during this month.

If you are born in June, your horoscope is Cancer and your birthstones are the pearl, the Moonstone (gemstone), and the Alexandrite which means health and longevity. Its birth flowers are the honeysuckle and the rose.

I wish everyone a great month of June.

King John’s Statue in Front of Semper Opera House in Dresden

This is one of the beautiful cities I visited in Germany. Dresden is the capital city of the federal state of Saxony. It is both a historical, cultural and industrial city. One of the sights we visited is the Semper Opera House (Semperoper in German). It is considered to be one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. In front of the Semperoper is the statue of King John.

It was another wonderful trip we had last weekend. More updates to come in my other travel sites below;

I Love Monterosso in Italy

This is a very beautiful place in Italy. Monterosso is one of the five villages in Cinque Terre, which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites together with Manarola, Corniglia, Riomagiorre, and Vernazza. What I especially love in this place is its beautiful white sand beach.

Monterosso is just a small town but a lot of tourists are visiting it every year especially during summer season. Its main sights include the Castle, the parish church of St. John the Baptist and its lovely beach. There are also a lot of historical and colorful buildings in this town.

Monterosso is a town and comune in the province of La Spezia, part of the region of Liguria (northern Italy). taken during our visit last April 18, 2011. I love this place!
