Plane ticket is finally booked! I already did it last month. I will be flying with Iberia airlines again from Munich to Madrid next month. This time I will be staying longer in one of my favorite countries in Europe which is Spain and that will be for one and a half month. This will also be my longest stay outside of Germany considering Europe continent. The longest vacation I had outside of Europe was in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States last 2008. It was a long two months vacation in the city which is also known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World”. I had a great time there with my sister and relatives. Hopefully I will be backed there also in June or July this year…in God’s will.

Back to Spain..I will be staying longer in Madrid, its capital city. I guess for over a month. There are still a lot of things to explore and discover in this city and during my stay next month and in April, I would love to explore it more. I also would love to make some side trips to the nearby towns and cities like in Segovia, Salamanca, Avila, Guadalajara and some other more. I am also planning to go to Barcelona and Lisbon in Portugal. I will see but these are only tentative and I have to plan all of these before the end of the month.

Thanks to a friend who also named Ruby who was my former college schoolmate. She currently lives in Madrid. Because of her I will have a chance again to stay in Madrid for a longer time. I miss meeting her and other acquaintances during my visit in Madrid last December 2011. Finally, I will see them again in 24 days.

a snapshot of The Puerta de Alcalá (“Alcalá Gate”) while we were riding a bus during a day sightseeing in Madrid. It is a Neo-classical monument in the Plaza de la Independencia (“Independence Square”) in Madrid, Spain. I wish to take a better picture of it next month.

It seems like yesterday when we had a trip in Turkey. One of the interesting sites we visited was the ruins of Ephesus. I can’t believed that the ruins in this place was so huge. Our tour guide took us almost three hours to show and to explain the whole ruins of Ephesus known in Turkish as Efes. He also mentioned that Efes was once a Greek city which was later turned out to be a major Roman city. It is located near Selcuk in Izmir Province in Turkey. It is now one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

I was truly amazed by the ruins of Ephesus. Imagine during those times when they still don’t have all the modern equipments like what we have now, but still hey were able to build such amazing architecture.

I watched before a TV program featuring a team who made a road trip from Berlin, Germany to Russia. I can’t exactly remember the town or city in Russia where they ended their trip. They were driving two off-road vehicles that can really drive off-pave and gravel surfaces. They even crossed some rivers and deserts during that road trip. I guess their cars have jeep lift kits which made them easier to travel over obstacles on the road. It was a very interesting journey they had passing different countries in Europe until they reach their final destination.

I was telling hubby the past months that when he retired, we will also make a road trip to the various countries in Europe. I told him that we will buy an RV if I win the lottery. Want to join with us folks? How I wish it will come true!

If you are coming from the main Cebu island and want to go to Mactan, for sure you will be passing Marcelo B. Fernan Bridge. This bridge reminds me of Yokohama Bridge which I saw on a postcard sent to me by a Japanese friend. No wonder Marcelo Fernan bridge looks exactly the same with Yokohama bridge because it was constructed with the help of the Japanese Government.

I can’t exactly remember how many times did I crossed this bridge during my stay in Cebu. I even remember walking on it when we visited some relatives in Mactan some years ago. It makes me feel good remembering it again.

Marcelo Fernan Bridge is an extradosed cable-stayed bridge located in Metro Cebu, Cebu in the Philippines. It spans across Mactan Channel connecting Cebu Island to Mactan Island. The bridge has a total length of 1237 meters (4058.40 feet) with a center span of 185 meters (606.96 feet).

I would like to take the opportunity of sending my birthday greetings to my beloved and dearest Father Felomino who is thousands of miles away from me. Philippine time, it is officially his 76th birthday. I wish you good health always, love, peace, contentment and happiness. God bless you always dear Papang. We love you!
