4 Ways To Save Money On A Night Out

It’s great to go out with friends, family, or a special loved one and enjoy yourself, but it can also cost a lot of money, especially if you head out to your nearest city. However, there are some ways to have a wonderful night out and not spend a fortune doing it. Here are some tips on saving money on a night out.

Plan Ahead

If you go out with no particular plan, you can end up spending money on things you hadn’t intended to. It’s a much better idea to do some research ahead of time and decide what you’re going to do, because then you will know how much you’re going to spend and you can more easily stick to your budget. You can even spread the cost and buy some things in advance so that you have more to spend on the night itself. Ticket Sales can be checked out many months before your night out, for example, and in some cases you can pre-book transport too.

Don’t Drink

Rather than spending a lot of money on alcohol, you can go out for the evening with friends and not drink anything but soda and still have a fantastic time. Not only don’t you need alcohol to have fun, but because it can be one of the most expensive parts of a night out, you could be saving a lot of money in the process. Other benefits to not drinking are that you won’t wake up with a hangover and you’ll remember much more about your special night out. Plus you’ll be able to drive, and that will save you money on cabs or buses.

If you do want to enjoy an alcoholic drink or two, do it in the comfort of your own home before you go out – it’s much cheaper this way.

Eat First

Although this may not work for or appeal to some people because the meal out is all part of the evening, it is a good way to save money if you eat at home first and then go out to see a show or enjoy a club. Eating in a restaurant is a big expense, and if you can cut that out of your night’s plans, you’ll be saving a large amount of your budget.

Only Take Cash

Credit and debit cards are extremely useful, but they also make it easy to spend more than we intended to because they are so easy to use. It may seem like a good idea at the time, but when we check our bank balances the next day, or when we receive our credit card statement, that good idea can look very bad indeed.

Rather than having this problem, just take out the cash that you are happy to spend and leave the cards at home. That way you know that once the money is gone, you can’t spend any more. Make sure you leave enough for your fare home if you need it though.
