Thank You 2015 for the Amazing Highlights You Brought

A warm and positive welcome to 2016! I can’t believe that we are already stepping another year starting today. Indeed, time flies so fast. I can’t thank God enough for giving me an awesome 2015.   As what I mentioned here that there are ups and downs in our lives, 2015 was still a wonderful year if I have to sum it up. It was not a perfect year but there are more positive  outcomes and happenings that year.

There are a lot to be thankful of. I would say, life has been better and lighter for me especially during the last month of 2015.  So far, for now, these are the highlights during the past year.

Traveled so far to 10 Countries

Despite having a full time job, I still managed to travel to 10 countries in Europe.  Thanks to the privilege of having a 30-day paid vacation leave each year in my job, I can explore any places or countries in  any continents.  Besides with my current location, it is so easy to travel  and cross country in some hours.  I wish I can  travel more but still, I am grateful that I  am fulfilling my dreams of seeing  the world little by little, from time to time. So far, the most traveled year I had was in 2013 visiting 23 countries all in all.

The House of the National Assembly or the Dom Narodne Skupštine  is the seat of the National Assembly of Serbia. The building is located on Nikola Pašić Square in downtown Belgrade, and is a notable landmark and tourist attraction in the city. One of the cities I visited during that round trip in the Balkans last year. It was an awesome travel.

Among the countries I visited are  Turkey, Greece, Czech Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and I guess, I have to include Germany. The latter is not my country of birth but I consider it now my second home and currently,  it is my home-based country.

I had the chance to visit Dubrovnik for the second time last year. My wish to walk around its walls finally did came true. During my first visit, I just explored the Old City but did not had the chance to walk around the walls.

There is only one thing I can say, “You don’t need to be rich to travel the world“.  If you have the chance and the money and it is your big dream to see one place or country  at a time, go ahead and travel!

Home Project Continues

I believed, this is so far  one of the greatest achievements I did in my life. After building my retirement home in my home country Philippines,  I  am building another one at the moment. It seems that I am already getting ready for my return for good in my fatherland.  As of  now, I can’t really decide whether to go back but time will come, I might decide to settle for good especially if I am already in the age when I want to spend the rest of my life in my family back home and simply enjoy life to the fullest.

When I first shared my first article about this home project, all you can see were   posts and mess. Finally, the first floor of the house, I would say is 70 percent done now. In some months, the second floor will be continued. Hard work and proper budgeting count when doing this big project.

My first retirement home in my home country. I super miss this place and my family and friends as well.

This is quite a big project and I know this will take sometime before this second home will be finished. Besides, I don’t want to borrow money  from the bank  money in building it.  With the earnings I have every month, I am trying my best to budget it from building this house to saving for travels and other projects.  I guess, this is the advantage of being an accountant and  a former banker. You just have the knowledge and the ideas on how to properly budget your money. More on that, investing in real property is a good choice and decision.

Finally Started a Better Job

Patience and hard work always pay! It was almost 8 long years that I did not really work since I partially live a nomadic life traveling here and there anytime and anywhere. Being a full time blogger and as a digital nomad, I can work anytime and anywhere I want as long as I have my laptop with and an internet connection. Those glorious days in blogging seems over  now. I can’t exactly tell.

Last 2014, I decided to look for a job in Germany. I can’t imagine that I was doing that job because it was so far away from my profession as a banker. I accepted it hoping that one day, when there is a chance, I will change to a better job.  At last, in over a year, I applied for another  job where my worth  will be recognized. During the interview, the manager was impressed with  my resume considering my Bachelors degree and job experiences. The next day, after the interview, I was not surprised anymore because when I left that office, I was already thinking that I got the job. Thanks God  for rewarding me my worth. I am truly grateful.  I started last December  of 2015 and I am loving my job plus the nice colleagues that I have, you are happy going to work everyday. More on that, I have fun everyday with them.

Grateful for the Gift of Family and Friends

One of the greatest and priceless gifts we can have are the gifts of families and friends. I am grateful to my family and friends who supports and understand me despite my failures and weaknesses.  Thank you so much guys.  You are all awesome! I can’t thank God enough for all His goodness to me and my family.

Thankful for All the Blessings

There are so many things to be thankful of.  The food on our table everyday, our homes that keep us warm on cold winter, the nature that provides us with all the things we need, the air that we breath every second of our lives and many many more.

The Best Wealth is Being Healthy and Happy

I  hope you agree with this. True wealth is being healthy and happy everyday.  If you are always feeling good and  healthy, it is also coupled with  happiness. These are priceless wealth that we sometimes overlook.   You have to remember money can buy medicine and entertainment but not  health and happiness.

Grateful for the Opportunity and Privilege  to Be in this Planet

Last but not  the least, thanks God for the gift of life for  giving me the chance to see and to experience the beauty of this planet. I owe everything to you and I am forever grateful for it.

What are your hopes and dreams for the next 12 months? I will for sure work harder, travel as much as I possibly can to experience God’s beautiful creation and to slowly materialized some projects I am undertaking right now. Good health always, love, peace and happiness are my greatest wishes too!

My last hope and wish, I pray for peace, love and unity in our planet Earth and that war, hunger and terrorism will end so soon!  Have a  a blessed and abundant  Year of the Monkey! I believed,  banana will be included in  my daily diet! lol!

Take care folks and until then!

There are also many things that I am thankful for in 2015. There were ups and downs but I can’t complain because every time I count my blessings, my hearts swells with joy for God has blessed, and continues to bless, me each day of my life.
