Reasons to Go Back to Florence, Italy
Whose going back to Florence again? The capital of Tuscany is indeed a beautiful city. During my first visit, I did not really experienced everything. So, why not go back there when there is another chance. Thanks to this very cheap travel we booked last year. Thanks also to a friend for convincing me to go with her, or else, I won’t be going back there again this year.
The Basilica di Santa Croce (Basilica of the Holy Cross) is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. It is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Foscolo, Gentile and Rossini, thus it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories (Tempio dell’Itale Glorie). I had the chance to go inside this church museum.
I was satisfied after seeing the burial places of these famous Italian talents.
Florence, known as Firenze in Italian is know as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. It is considered a cultural, artistic and architectural gem.
It is one of the places in my bucketlist and I am so thankful that I finally visited it last autumn 2013. Why go back to Florence? Here are some of the reasons why I want to see it again?
- I want to go inside the beautiful Santa Maria del Fiore, the Duomo or the Cathedral of Florence.
- I want to climb Giotto’s Tower, adjacent to the Duomo.
- I want to see the interior of Palazzo Vecchio. I only saw its exterior.
- I want to explore the Boboli Gardens.From there, you can also have a great view of the city.
- I want to go up to the one of the famous squares in Florence, known as the Piazzale Michelangelo (Michelangelo Square).
- I also want to taste any Florentine foods, sit down and sip a cup of coffee while eating an Italian pizza.
There are still a lot of things I want to do when I will visit again this interesting city of Florence. I need to consider the time given to us because I still have no idea what this trip will offer and how long we will be staying in Florence. I know for sure, I will take all the chances to see and experience more of this city.
