Cologne, Germany

0 comments
Welcome to Cologne where the cathedral spires tower over Germany's oldest city and its innumerable cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums and active art scene. The world feels at home in Cologne, where people meet for a Kölsch, a chat or simply a laugh. Life in Cologne is uncomplicated and vivacious.

We visited last year this famous city of Germany, Koeln or Cologne. I love this city. It is so lively esp. at the Market Square near the Cologne Dome or Cathedral whre a lot of people usually gatherer. Hope to be back there next time on their Fasching or Festival.

1 comments
Am I a peaceful person!! I believed so!!! thanks a lot sis Twinks for always remembering me...I really appreciate it!!! will tour you in Europe once I win the lottery...hahaha!!Thanks a bunch for this award Tchel... mwah!

Peace: Freedom from quarrels and disagreement and of having a harmonious relations. Inner contentment and serenity.

No kidding aside, our country needs this award desperately. With all the things and crap that is happening in our country right now, achieving peace & serenity seems to an ambitious goal. For me, peace begins at home and of being at peace with one's self.

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

A Beautiful Sunday in Hohenfels, Germany

1 comments
I went walking alone today. The weather was so perfect.It is sunny, a little bit windy and not really cold..My husband went to work, that's why I'm alone. Today was really a very beautiful day..more beautiful because, I was out again, seeing the beauty of nature around my small universe..yup, I love Hohenfels. This is now my new Home.of course, my home country Philippines is still my home and will always be my home.

Since I already knew and adapted Germany's most culture and tradition, I already fell in love with it. The small village where I presently live now is a very interesting and natural one..I love nature and the setting in Hohenfels is just so lovely. It is a very clean, quite and peaceful place. The view around is just so priceless and wonderful.

As I went around walking today, I went to the Schlossberg. It is a castle ruin on top of a small Hill.The Schlossberg Turm (tower) is still well-maintained, as it is also one of the sightseeing here. When you are at the top of the hill, you can witness and see the beautiful scenery around the place. got some graffitis here for you!!

hope you enjoy the rest of the week!!! God bless us all!!

Trees in Winter Time

0 comments
We went last Sunday to a friend's birthday...we drove around 45 minutes to their house..on the way there, the trees during this winter time captured my attention.. We don't have too much snow this winter time compared to the past years..in fact our weather now in our place is like spring time..not so bad because I really don't driving during snow time..

anyway let me continue, even most trees don't have leaves during winter time, I still see it's simple beauty...It just amazed me how really God created all of these marvelous creatures and things on earth..just like the four seasons of the year with each own beauty in it...really amazing...got here the photos I took last Sunday Feb. 17, '08..

near Velburg, Germany

i love the contrast of this photo...this is not fix.
i'm only using a very simple camera..

Fruits are healthy

0 comments
I love to eat fruits...guess I can eat almost all fruits besides that they are healthy, I also love its taste and it is full of vitamins and minerals...got this photos from last year..

The term fruit has many different meanings depending on context. In botany, a fruit is the ripened ovary—together with seeds—of a flowering plant. In many species, the fruit incorporates the ripened ovary and the surrounding tissues. Fruits are the means by which flowering plants disseminate seeds.[1] In cuisine, when discussing fruit as food, the term usually refers to those plant fruits that are sweet and fleshy, examples of which include plums, apples and oranges. However, a great many common vegetables, as well as nuts and grains, are the fruit of that plant species.[2] No single terminology really fits the enormous variety that is found among plant fruits.[3] The cuisine terminology for fruits is inexact and will remain so. The term false fruit (pseudocarp, accessory fruit) is sometimes applied to a fruit like the fig (a multiple-accessory fruit; see below) or to a plant structure that resembles a fruit but is not derived from a flower or flowers. Some gymnosperms, such as yew, have fleshy arils that resemble fruits and some junipers have berry-like, fleshy cones. The term "fruit" has also been inaccurately applied to the seed-containing female cones of many conifers.[4]

With most fruits pollination is a vital part of fruit culture, and the lack of knowledge of pollinators and pollenizers can contribute to poor crops or poor quality crops. In a few species, the fruit may develop in the absence of pollination/fertilization, a process known as parthenocarpy.[5] Such fruits are seedless. A plant that does not produce fruit is known as acarpous, meaning "without fruit".[6]

This is the best..... The Holy Alphabet... This is Beautiful

Whoever came up with this one must have had some Divine guidance!

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
J oy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Y es, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.

I love Flowers

Me and my hubby visited last Monday his twin sister in Lengenfeld. They owned an Auto Repair Shop (Werkstatt). They specialized in car accident. I need to have a cost estimate for my car which was hit last week in the Landratsamt (Town Hall) park place. I also posted about the accident here.

We also need to visit there since my sister in law had operation twice in the leg last December. We chat a bit with my husband's family circle. While chatting, I noticed this flower which is really very nice..guess it's a flower of some kind of a cabbage. It's really very nice.

can also be found just around the corner
you just need to appreciate it!!

It's TGIF (thanks God its Friday)..wish you in advance an enjoyable wekend!!have to go grocery shopping now...bye!!

Saint Valentine

0 comments

Glitter Graphics

Saint Valentine (in Latin, Valentinus) is the name of several Martyred Saints of ancient Rome. Of the Saint Valentine whose feast is on February 14, nothing is known except his name and that he was buried at the Via Flaminia north of Rome on February 14. It is even uncertain whether the feast of that day celebrates only one saint or two or more saints of the same name. For this reason this liturgical commemoration was not kept in the Roman Catholic calendar of saints for universal liturgical veneration as revised in 1969 . Traditional Roman Catholics continue to venerate St. Valentine on his feast day, February 14.

In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Saint Valentine the Presbyter, is celebrated on 6 July, and Hieromartyr Saint Valentine (Bishop of Interamna, Terni in Italy) is celebrated on 30 July.

The name "Valentine" does not occur in the earliest list of Roman martyrs, which was compiled by the Chronographer of 354. The feast of St. Valentine was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I, who included Valentine among those "... whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God." As Gelasius implied, nothing was known, even then, about the lives of any of these martyrs. The Saint Valentine that appears in various martyrologies in connection with 14 February is described either as:

  • A priest in Rome
  • A bishop of Interamna (modern Terni)
  • A martyr in the Roman province of Africa.

The name "Valentine", derived from valens (worthy), was popular in late antiquity.

Various dates are given for the martyrdom or martyrdoms: 269, 270, or 273.

The official Roman Martyrology for February 14 mentions only one Saint Valentine.

English eighteenth-century antiquarians Alban Butler and Francis Douce, noting the obscurity of Saint Valentine's identity, suggested Valentine's Day was created as an attempt to supersede the pagan holiday of Lupercalia. This idea has lately been contested by Professor Jack Oruch of the University of Kansas. Many of the current legends that characterise Saint Valentine were invented in the fourteenth century in England, notably by Geoffrey Chaucer and his circle, when the feast day of February 14 first became associated with romantic love.

While a Website of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and other sources give different lists of Saint Valentines, the Catholic Church's official list of recognized saints, the Roman Martyrology lists seven: a martyr (Roman priest or Terni bishop?) buried on the Via Flaminia
(February 14), a priest from Viterbo (November 3), a bishop from Raetia who died in about 450 (January 7), a fifth-century priest and hermit (July 4), a Spanish hermit who died in about 715 (October 25), Valentine Berrio Ochoa, martyred in 1861 (November 24) and Valentine Jaunzarás Gómez, martyred in 1936 (September 18).
